Grab x NTU Product Management Club Hackfest Competition | L’oreal Competition | Bukit Batok Pen calligraphy Competition

x NTU Product Management Club HackFest

I participated in the Grab x NTU Product Management Club Hackfest, where we tackled the challenge of “Lowering Costs, Sustaining Livelihoods: The Food Delivery Challenge.”

Our team, We Are 5% Off, proposed GrabShare for Food—a concept where users can opt to “tompang” (piggyback) on nearby orders by compromising on restaurant choice in exchange for lower delivery fees and better value. Inspired by the original GrabShare model, our solution aimed to improve affordability for users while increasing order efficiency for merchants and delivery partners.

Our team was proud to be awarded 1st Runner-Up for our innovative and practical approach to tackling rising food delivery costs.

L’oreal Brandstorm 2025

I participated in the L’Oréal Brandstorm 2025 competition, where our team, Team SVY, tackled the theme “Men. Beauty & Care. Game On.”

Our solution, SONICBEARD, introduced the world’s first ultrasonic razor—designed to deliver a precise, frictionless shave using high-frequency vibrations, while being eco-friendly and safe for sensitive skin. Inspired by real consumer pain points, we developed a product concept that merged cutting-edge technology with inclusive grooming needs.

Although we didn’t progress to the next round, the competition was a valuable learning experience that enhanced my knowledge of product innovation, consumer behavior, and strategic thinking in the beauty tech industry. It offered a practical platform to address real-world challenges and explore creative solutions in a fast-paced, competitive environment. It was a hands-on opportunity to tackle real-world challenges and push creative boundaries within a competitive setting.

Bukit Batok Pen Calligraphy Competition 2022

In collaboration with the Chinese Calligraphy Society of Singapore (CCSS)

As part of the organizing committee under the Bukit Batok Youth Network, I played a key role in planning and executing the Bukit Batok Pen Calligraphy Competition 2022. My responsibilities included designing the event’s winning trophies, liaising with trophy manufacturers, and coordinating the end-to-end event flow to ensure a smooth and meaningful experience for all participants.

Working closely with multiple stakeholders—from volunteers and logistics teams to CCSS representatives—taught me the importance of clear communication, contingency planning, and on-the-ground adaptability. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills in event planning, stakeholder coordination, and creative problem-solving. It was rewarding to see months of preparation come together, and it deepened my appreciation for cultural engagement through community-led initiatives.
